Moon Shower

There has been all this stuff happening around the moon lately. New Year's eve was a "Blue Moon" and I went to an incredible party out in brooklyn to celebrate. Last night we had a shockingly bright full moon here in NYC, the brightest one of the year. It was also super clear out so it was like this giant beacon shining down onto the sidewalks of new york, beautiful and I guess somehow kind of cleansing.

Sherry Vine Lady Gaga Bad Romance parody

I love lady Gaga and so does Sherry Vine, you can find out more about Sherry by clicking here.

This video reminds me of the creativity that was spewing out of the incredible drag gueens who regularly performed at The pyramid club in the '80's and '90's. Linda Simpson, Taboo, Lady Bunny and Happy Phace....among many others

lhasa R.I.P.

I only recently discovered this quirky singer, i heard her on Radio Nova , of course. I read that she passed away on January 1 at the age of 37 of breast cancer. Life, Lhasa said, was "a road constantly changing and, being on it, you change too".

the Generationals

This weeks obsession

New year, more friends

It's a really amazing time for me, so many new people are popping up in my life as friends and professionally and I seem to be able to relate to all these new people deeply, quickly and easily. It's as if some kind of gate has been opened and all these people are just flooding into my life...it's pretty cool and I don't know how or why this is happening, but I like it!

ok, so I'm a Libra....

Your Zodiac Forecasts, from Jonathan Cainer

Your Week Ahead: Is it better to have nothing than the wrong kind of something? A question like this can't be answered until you consider three factors. How unsatisfactory is 'nothing', how 'wrong' is wrong and how likely is it, if you do hold out for the right thing, that you will actually get it? Further factors (such as whether doing or having the 'wrong' thing will impede your ability to get the right thing and if so, how severely) must also be weighed up. A sense of insecurity has caused you to consider many odd ideas. Soon, you will feel far less fearful - and the convoluted arguments now creating such doubt and confusion will become more straightforward.

Your Week Ahead Part Two - Love Focus: Don't say what you don't mean. But do articulate a true belief or emotion. Do not let your fear of being misunderstood intimidate you, but do think about how someone else will hear what you have to say. Don't question your right to feel what you feel, but do expect others to feel differently! A potential problem is only going to become a real problem if someone wants to turn it into a problem. If there's a willingness to communicate and co-operate, if there's respect and tolerance, if there's give and take... there's all you need to make sure things work out well. Set the right example in the right spirit and you'll get the right response.

Radio Nova

I was having lunch at My favorite neighborhood restaurant Zucco, le French Diner with My friend Liz recently and in addition to Liz's warmth and wisdom I was enjoying the music, it was from the french radio station, radio Nova...check it out here. If you go to Zucco make sure you try the burger, it's my favorite in all of NYC. That's one of liz's photos above, you can find out more about her work by clicking here...

Moving On

"Boys ignore the good guys. Grown men ignore the bad guys. Boys make you cum. Grown men make you come home. Boys worry about not being handsome and/or studly enough for their man. Grown men know that they are hot and desireable for any man. Boys try to monopolize all their man's time (i.e, don't want him hanging with his friends). Grown men realize that a lil' bit of space makes the ''together time' even more special -- and goes to kick it with his own friends! Boys think a guy crying is weak. Grown men offer their shoulder and a tissue. Boys want to be spoiled and 'tell' their man so. Grown men 'show' him and make him comfortable enough to reciprocate w/o fear of losing his 'manhood'. Boys get hurt by one man and make all men pay for it. Grown men know that that was just one man. Boys fall in love, chase aimlessly after the object of their affection, ignoring all 'signs'. Grown men know that sometimes the one you love, don't always love you back-- and move on, without bitterness. Boys will read this and get an attitude. Grown men will read this and pass it on to other Grown men"

Love is The Drug

I was having breakfast yesterday with my friend Bob and at one point he was talking about love being a drug d that reminded me of the first song I ever heard on the radio that made my ears perk up and feel like this music was written just for me and it was, consequently, the first record I ever bought "Love Is The Drug" by Roxy Music. also, the first concert I ever went to...it was at the Guthrie theater, right next to the Walker Art Center

Not The Jet Set

My Hungarian friend Bence asked me to recommend to him some really awful american country music, god know there is lots of cheesy crap in that genre...but among some of the kitchiest corniest songs there are these incredible, theatrical pieces that illustrate the profundity of human bonding....and if you think I am kidding, think again. This song is genius...

Thom Lupari

I saw some really cool paintings yesterday by this guy Thom Lupari. These are some of my favorites...you can check out his website here. They kind of remind me of some of the paintings Kieth mayerson was making a while back

Kieth Haring Mural

Trip To Staten Island

Yesterday was a beautiful day in NYC, sunny and almost 50 degrees. I decided to go visit a friend in Staten Island. I brought a good book with me, a single man, to read on the ferry ride.....I should do this more often.

Roberta

I just got of the phone with one of my most special friends, my ex high school sweetheart, Roberta. She is the one friend that I have known the longest in my life. When I was 15 and my whole life turned upside down, I was uprooted and placed in a foster home in a new community...terrified to be walking the halls of this alien high school....within days Roberta appeared in my life and we've been friends ever since. It's amazing how every time I'm placed in a scary new situation, an angel appears to guide me through it....I'm a very lucky guy

Keeping Warm In The Winter

One of the great things to do in these chilly weeks after Christmas is hang with your friends and make some new ones Luckily for me I got invited to a great party last night. It was a dual birthday party for my friends Matt and Chris, in a giant loft downtown with a great dj and lots of different people from many different worlds mixing it up, and the last song we danced to was "Empire State of Mind" The anthem of the winter. I'm pretty lucky to have so many friends help me get through this chilly time...
